EVALUATION

Introduction

The assignment was to research different types of stop motion techniques. A technique would be chosen to create an animation of my own and for this assignment I chose the pixilisation technique.

What you did?

Research – I researched, planned and then developed my piece of work.

Negatives of this assignment :

· I prefer to work in reverse by producing the product first – and I should have worked in the opposite work and made the product last.

· Planning stage – aka sketches and storyboards

Positives of this assignment:

· I enjoyed actually shooting the animation.

· I also enjoyed the editing and final production work to make the final piece.

Feedback Received on the Project

I have received positive feedback from my peers from the animation side of the project and I was told it was an “artistic” piece of work. The only negative feedback was that some people thought the music that I used on the product was in their words “creepy” but they also thought that it worked well with the animation.

Next time:

I will make sure that I do the next project from start to finish rather than from finish to start which will help me to manage the project better.

I will try harder to do more work on the planning stages with sketches and storyboards so that you can see the development of the project.

Process Of Animation

Camera;

Canon EOS 450d.

Shooting Mode; Flash Off

Firstly i decided id take photos on my own then i stopped to let my two friends walk infront of me, i kept the flash held in to take loads of photos, (this wasnt staged we were just walking and i decided to take photos not thinking about it as a stop motion piece.

I Then Took It into windows movie maker and placed all the images into the storyline, and when i looked at it just playing forwards it looked abit dull, so i decided to reverse it. when i reversed it, it was half the time i needed so i decided to go from reverse, then play it forward. which came to about 28/29 seconds, so i decided to put a 5 second ending which Says Invisioneyes. (the name of my project).

now i decided to look at some music, this was the difficult part. to find some music to go with this. after searching i found a song which was by a Band Called Misery Signals - Worlds and Dreams, So i cut it out there. which gave the song a Arty / Creepy Animation.

Goals

To Achieve what i need to finish my Animation;

The finished piece should be exported as an .mp4 file and burned to disk

• Planning should show consideration of possible animation formats (modelling materials, cut outs, time lapse, pixilisation, experimental techniques, mixed media)
• Generation of ideas must be included to show development of your sequence – not just just screenshots of work at different stages, but preparation as sketches, notes, test sequences

Discussion of how your planned animation would appeal to a set audience must also be included
